Ex-Husband, Your Move

2026-03-04

On our third wedding anniversary, I flew to M City without telling Caleb, wanting to surprise him. When I opened my eyes again, a collar fastened with an iron chain was nailed to a lamppost, and the bitter wind stung my cheeks sharply. Whitney was wearing his usual black overcoat, pinching my chin condescendingly: "Susan, did you really think Caleb only has you in his heart?" "Where's Caleb?" I roared as I struggled, only to be yanked down hard onto the ground by the chain. A black sedan pulled up slowly, and he got out, wrapping his arm around Whitney. I screamed at him like I was clutching a lifeline: "Caleb! Save me!" But he let out a low chuckle, bending down to say to Whitney: "You really know me. This sense of humor is right up my alley." "A sense of humor?" My blood ran cold. "Were our three years of love just a joke to you?" Whitney tiptoed to kiss his cheek: "Trash like her deserves to get out of his world." Caleb didn't even spare me a glance: "Once you've had enough of freezing, get out of here on your own. Don't make a fool of yourself."收起

Chapter 1 of "Ex-Husband, Your Move"

During the third week of Caleb Shaw's business trip, I booked a flight to M City. I wanted to surprise him; after all, it was our third wedding anniversary. Before I left, I messaged his secretary, Whitney Lynn, asking which hotel Caleb was staying at. Whitney replied promptly and even offered to wait for me at the hotel entrance. At the time, I thought she was thoughtful; now I realize it was all a trap. After leaving the airport, Whitney approached with a smile and handed me a bottle of ice water. "Ms. Scott, you must be tired from the trip. Have some water to refresh yourself first." I didn't think much and just twisted off the cap to take a few sips. Soon, my head grew heavy and my vision blurred. "You..." I was about to ask her what was going on when I lost consciousness. When I woke again, a sharp, biting wind cut through my collar. I was tied up in a corner on an unfamiliar street; rough hemp ropes bit into my wrists and ankles. Around my neck was a cold metal collar, its chain secured to a nearby lamppost. "Awake now?" Whitney Lynn's voice sounded from above. I looked up and saw her standing not far away, wearing the black coat that Caleb Shaw often wore. "So it was you?" My voice was hoarse and dry. "Who else could it be?" Whitney Lynn gave a light laugh and stepped closer. "Susan Scott, do you really think Caleb's heart belongs only to you?" I struggled to stand, but the iron chain yanked me off balance, and I fell heavily to the ground. My knees hit the hard concrete floor, and the pain made my vision dim. "Let go of me! Where is Caleb Shaw?" I shouted at her. Whitney crouched down and grabbed my chin with such force it felt as if she wanted to crush my bones. "What's the hurry? He'll be here any moment." She said, then raised her hand and slapped me. The sharp sound echoed through the silent street. My cheek instantly burned with pain, and a trace of blood welled at the corner of my mouth. "How dare you hit me?" "What's wrong with hitting you?" Whitney stood up and kicked me in the waist. "A useless person who only occupies Mrs. Shaw's position should have left long ago." I curled up on the ground, so much in pain that I couldn't speak. Just then, a familiar black sedan slowly drove up and stopped not far away. The car door opened, and Caleb Shaw stepped out. I felt as if I'd grasped a lifeline and shouted at him, "Caleb! Save me!" But he just stood there, looking at me coldly, showing no sign of coming over. Whitney Lynn walked up to him, naturally linked her arm with his, and stood on tiptoe to kiss his cheek. "Caleb, look at her like this—isn't it amusing?" Caleb Shaw chuckled softly, reaching out to wrap his arm around her waist: "You really understand me; this kind of humor suits my taste perfectly." Humor? It was like being struck by lightning; I felt as if all the blood in my body had frozen. I had prepared a surprise for him, but was betrayed by his lover, drugged, and tied up on a foreign street, humiliated. And he not only looked the other way but even considered it a form of "humor." "Caleb Shaw," my voice shook uncontrollably, tears streaming down my face, "Is our three years together nothing but a joke to you?" He seemed not to hear me, lowering his head to Whitney Lynn and saying, "It's cold outside, let's go back." "Alright." Whitney smiled in response, and before leaving, glanced back at me with eyes full of pride and mockery. The car slowly drove away, leaving me alone in the cold wind, bound by chains, enduring the twin torments of body and soul. At that moment, something within my heart shattered completely.

Make Him Pay

In the blazing fire, I screamed at the top of my lungs: "Michael, save me!" Yet the man who once swore to protect me for a lifetime turned his back without hesitation, holding Pamela in his arms as he walked away, leaving me alone to struggle in the sea of flames. Our unborn child—my baby—perished in the fire just like that. I also lost my uterus because of this, reduced to this half-human, half-ghost appearance. "Sign it, or I'll keep you in the dark forever!" Michael's voice was as cold as ice. He threw the divorce agreement and the cornea donation agreement onto my bedside. My eyes widened in disbelief. "How could you be so cruel? She was the one...

For the Glory of My Family

The night the crystal chandelier exploded into a thousand glittering shards, my wedding invitation still fresh with gold—the cut seared through my heart first. Caleb Lopez's words, 'Let Mindy move in,' anchored me in place; my father and brothers were taken hostage, and the Scott Group teetered on the edge of ruin. I smiled as I dialed Dylan Xavier's number: 'Five hundred arsenals as dowry, save my brother, and I'll marry you.' Three days later, I stood in a bloodstained wedding gown atop the bridal carriage—behind me, Caleb's car taillights chased like a maddened storm.收起

The Sharpest Betrayal

"When exactly are you going to stop lying, Dylan? Milo has already accepted me." Ruby's voice dripped with petulance, and I heard the cat's soft purr. Dylan's reply was muffled. "Cut it out. She hasn't noticed yet. Just wait till I make the arrangements." "Arrangements? You're just reluctant to let her go!" Ruby's voice rose sharply. "When you said you'd keep Milo here, it was just an excuse to see me! You defended that cat even after she got scratched three times—you were trying to drive her away, weren't you?" I pushed the door open, my knuckles white with rage. "So Milo was never left here by a friend?" Ruby turned to me with a smirk, her eyes brimming with...

The Stingy Suitor

My university diploma was still warm in my hand when my grandfather's call came through: "Lydia, the young master of the Gresham Family is waiting at the café. Go now." I gripped that thin piece of paper as if I were holding onto a destiny already arranged for me. I pushed open the café door, and the man in the gray suit looked up, his eyes appraising me like a product: "You're Lydia Sue, right? Next week, you'll go to City H with me to build our relationship." Before I could even nod, he was already standing. What I didn't know was that those two huge suitcases were packed full of ridiculous secrets that would completely change this trip.收起

My Stepsister's Fake Death

Ben slammed his wine glass hard on the table, the wine splashing onto the back of my hand, sharp and cold. "Wendy, you actually think you deserve to celebrate a birthday?" "Today's Nancy's death anniversary, you poisonous woman who stole her place—how dare you have the nerve to celebrate your birthday?" I trembled all over, about to explain, but he shoved me harshly to the ground. "If it weren't for you, Nancy would never have thrown herself into the sea." "I should've let you die with her!" In excruciating pain, my phone buzzed with an anonymous message—a glaring photo. Nancy, wearing a bikini, nestled in the arms of a stranger, laughing wildly and carefree. Then the phone rang, Nancy's voice...

The Wrong Love

David stretched out his hand, which was missing an index finger, and walked toward me. The old scar at the stump glowed with a cold light under the desk lamp. "Nancy, I lost my finger to save you back then. Can't you give me another chance..." "When you used your hand to help Miss Xavier hide the pillow that killed my child, why didn't you think about giving my child a chance?" Miss Xavier immediately rushed over, the tips of her nails almost poking my face. "Nancy, you're talking nonsense!" I stared at David's trembling severed finger. "At three o'clock in the morning, you secretly threw the pillow stained with my amniotic fluid into the garbage dump. Do you want...
