I Rose to Fame with Secret Recipes

2026-03-04

The phone jolted suddenly. I unlocked it, and the screen showed a photo of the master bedroom bed—Mason's arm was wrapped around Stacy. My husband. My younger sister. "Sis, Mason told me long ago that he's put up with you for far too long." Stacy's voice note popped up abruptly, her tone spoiled and triumphant. "You've held the title of Mrs. Mason for ten years. That's more than enough." I dialed Mason's number. "Mason, you disgust me." There was a two-second silence on his end. Then, a sneer came through. "Lydia, stop putting on an act. If it weren't for your grandmother's recipe, I would've divorced you a long time ago." "The recipe? You've been plotting against me all this time?" "What else do you think? Why else would I marry someone as unwanted as you?" His tone turned suddenly vicious. "I told Stacy to send that photo. Hand over the recipe obediently, and I'll let you keep a shred of your dignity." I said coldly, "Dream on." But he let out a soft chuckle, his voice laced with an ominous certainty. "Oh, really? Then guess where your parents are right now. They're holding proof that you sold the recipe—and they're waiting to trade it to me for some benefits."收起

Chapter 1 of "I Rose to Fame with Secret Recipes"

Today is the tenth anniversary of Mason Collins and me getting married. I had booked his favorite restaurant in advance and bought custom cufflinks, eagerly anticipating this belated celebration. When my mobile phone vibrated, I thought it was his usual off-work reminder, but when I opened it, I was met with a series of photos. The background was our master bedroom's large bed; the man in the photos was my husband, Mason Collins, and the woman was my sister, Stacy Lynn. My stomach twisted violently. My fingers gripping the mobile phone turned white, and every breath I took felt sharp with pain. I don't know who the sender is, and I couldn't be bothered to guess. These photos are enough to crush all I've worked for in the past ten years. When Mason Collins came back, he smelled faintly of perfume—not the one I usually wear. "Happy anniversary, honey." He hugged me as usual, his tone so natural it was as if nothing had happened. I pushed him away and threw the mobile phone onto the coffee table, the photo still frozen on the most glaring one. "Mason Collins, I want a divorce." My voice was calm—so calm that even I was surprised. His smile froze on his face. He picked up his mobile phone and glanced at it. His expression gradually darkened, but there wasn't a trace of guilt. "Who sent this to you?" he asked. "Does it matter?" I replied. He put down the phone, leaned back on the sofa, tapping his fingers on the armrest, wearing an indifferent expression. "It was just a moment of weakness." He shrugged it off lightly, "Stacy is still young and immature. Don't hold it against her." "Young? She's only two years younger than me." I laughed, tears nearly streaming down, "Mason Collins, do you take me for a fool?" "Divorce is fine." He suddenly dropped his joking expression and pulled out a Divorce Agreement from his briefcase that he had prepared long ago. "I've already signed it." I was stunned. He had actually prepared it all this time? "I've already drafted the property division. This house will be yours, along with a black card with no spending limit." He pushed the agreement towards me, his tone dripping with condescension. "All you have to do is sign, and it's all yours." "Do you think I care about any of this?" I looked at his unfamiliar face, and my heart felt like it was being gripped tightly by a hand. "Or what?" He raised an eyebrow, eyes filled with challenge. "Leave me? What could you possibly do? You've been a full-time housewife all these years, completely cut off from the world." "None of your business." I picked up the pen and signed the agreement without a moment's hesitation. He watched me sign, a mocking smile curling at the edge of his lips. "Thought it through? Don't come back with regrets." "I never regret making the right choice." I carefully put away my copy of the agreement. He handed me a black bank card, but I brushed it aside with my hand. "Keep these things to yourself." I said. "Putting on airs." He scoffed and took back the card. I didn't argue with him any further. Holding the Divorce Agreement, I turned and walked out of the home I'd lived in for ten years. The wind outside was cold, cutting across my face like a knife, yet I felt unbelievably light. This marriage, full of betrayal, had finally come to an end.

My Wife Killed My Brother

The first time I met Yvonne Lawrence was in an alley drenched by a torrential downpour. Her white dress was soaked through, like a shattered gardenia. I was pinned to the ground and beaten by thugs, but she swung a bottle and smashed one of their heads. Later, she came to me dragging her suitcase and said, "Felix Zimmerman, from now on, I'll protect you." I believed her, never imagining that her way of protecting me involved secretly having children with another man, and even personally pulling out my younger brother's oxygen tube.收起

The Message Before Marriage

Seven days before my wedding, I accidentally saw messages from my fiancée on my childhood friend's phone. When I confronted her, my fiancée acted as if nothing was wrong and was still joking with me. The Scorching Sun, the Cold Heart

I used to believe marriage was a refuge, until that sweltering midsummer afternoon at 46 degrees, when my husband brought his childhood sweetheart crashing into our home. The poodle she held was more important than the three-month-old life growing inside me—"Set the air conditioner to 16 degrees, my dog is afraid of the heat." My husband then gripped my wrist and said, "Christina Sue, don't be so sentimental." Only then did I realize that some hearts are colder than ice.收起

Escape From My Mother

The wind chime shattered once again in the entrance hall; I clenched Mario Young's sleeve, but Mother's honeyed laughter still hooked into my bones. Her hand, offering the fruit basket, was as practiced as a script, but I saw the dusty men's leather shoes from three years ago. Simon Collins was also left forever at the door by her single word, "Hepatitis B." Today, this act falls to Mario Young, and I fear hearing that "slam" of the door once more.收起

Glad to be Eliminated

I stood in the shadow behind the cafe's back door, overhearing my boyfriend treat our relationship like a ruthless elimination contest—nineteen candidates, and I was just the obedient backup. At that moment, the laughter behind the glass door was like shards of broken glass stabbing into my heart, while my blood ran cold with shock. I dragged my suitcase away from his mansion and cut off all contact on that rainy night. The next day, University senior Charles Jones called: "Does our ten-year promise still hold?" I smiled and said, "It holds," and from then on, that scumbag couldn't even reach my back.收起

The Suffocating Night

The private room door suddenly slammed open, and a wave of heat mixed with cooking smoke hit me in the face. I gripped my water cup tightly, my fingertips turning cold. Next to the grilled wings Simon Green handed me was the pill bottle that had been switched—pale yellow powder stinging my eyes. Maggie Parker's sharp laugh cut through, "Faking sick? Try drinking this syrup then?" I was struggling to breathe, but they just laughed and called me "delicate." In that moment, death felt so close.收起
