I pushed open Simon Green's office door and said straight up, "Simon, I'm not going through with this marriage." Simon's hand holding the pen froze suddenly, ink smearing on the document. I held his gaze, "This alliance marriage never had any emotional basis. There's no point in either of us forcing it." Simon slammed the pen down with a bang, closing in step by step, his pressure nearly suffocating: "Forcing it? When the Lynn Family's Company was in deep trouble and begging the Green Family for this alliance to save you, why didn't you call it forcing then?" I clenched my palm tight, swallowing the sting from my past life: "Times change. Back then, I was forced into it. But now, I just don't want to get married." The partition door slid open softly. The invitations are sent, and all your family and friends know about it..." Simon patted her hand, then faced me coldly. "I don't agree. An alliance marriage involves major interests between both families. This isn't something you can just cancel on a whim." "When it comes to interests, the Lynn Family will negotiate with the Green Family. Any compensation due won't be lessened." I turned to leave.
