Chapter 1 of "Revenge on the Cheating Scum"
The moment my fingertips touched the bone porcelain spoon, I suddenly opened my eyes.
The bone porcelain spoon on the restoration table glowed with a gentle luster. The spoon's body had just been finished with the last stroke of gold powder, marking the beginning of everything destroyed in my previous life.
I'm Chelsea Nair, a bone porcelain restorer—and a reincarnated soul who has just clawed my way back from hell.
"Chelsea, this spoon looks really nice. Mind if I borrow it to scratch an itch?" From the doorway came my cousin Stella Todd's teasing voice. She leaned against the doorframe, her eyes full of scorn.
In my last life, I was too soft-hearted and lent her this bone porcelain spoon worth millions. In the end, she smashed it to pieces and even turned around to accuse me of breaking it myself.
"No way." I carefully placed the bone porcelain spoon into the velvet box, my voice cold as ice.
Stella froze, probably didn't expect me to refuse so bluntly.
"What do you mean, Chelsea?" She rushed over and reached for the box. "It's just a lousy spoon. I'm doing you a favor by lending it!"
I stepped aside and casually pushed her out the door.
"This is an artifact entrusted to the Jordan family for restoration, not your toy."
I stared at her. "If you mess up again, I'll call your parents and show them how you ruin other people's things."
Stella's face instantly turned bright red, then paled with anger, finally shooting me a fierce glare before stomping off.
I closed the door and leaned against it, my heart still pounding.
The feeling of being reborn was so real, yet it came with a bone-chilling fear.
I walked over to the bedside table and picked up the medicine to secure the pregnancy.
In my previous life, I took the abortion pills swapped by Stella, lost my three-month-old baby, and sank into depression. Even my deceased husband's inheritance was split between her and Harrison Jordan.
I twisted off the bottle cap, poured out a few pills, and held them under my nose to smell.
A familiar, sharp, and pungent odor hit me.
Sure enough, it had been switched again.
I sneered coldly, poured the pills into the toilet, and flushed them down thoroughly.
The real medicine to secure the pregnancy—I had long since hidden it in the safe in the study.
At three in the afternoon, the doorbell rang right on time.
It was Harrison, came to me under the name of my deceased husband, supposedly to care for me, and became my next husband, coming from a branch of the Jordan family.
But in reality, he was in cahoots with Stella; the two of them wanted to divide my deceased husband's inheritance, so they came to "look after" me.
He brought along two burly men and stormed straight into the restoration room.
"Chelsea, the Jordan family is pressing hard. Take out the bone porcelain spoon first." His tone was falsely gentle, but his eyes scanned around anxiously.
In the last life, that's exactly what he did—bringing men to smash open the display cabinet, snatching the bone porcelain spoon, and then handing it to Stella to play with.
I pointed to the display cabinet in the corner. "It's inside. You take it yourself."
A flash of triumph crossed Harrison's eyes as he immediately ordered the burly man to smash open the display cabinet.
The sharp sound of breaking glass rang out. He grabbed the velvet box inside, opened it, and his face instantly changed.
The bone porcelain spoon in the box looked exactly like the genuine item, but its color was dull, and the gold powder's shine was stiff—that was the counterfeit I had prepared in advance.
"Chelsea, this isn't the genuine item!" He suddenly turned around, eyes full of rage.
"Is that so?" I feigned surprise, "How could it be, I checked it this morning..."
Watching him lose his temper, I sneered inwardly.
Harrison Jordan, Stella Todd, this is just the beginning. What you owe me, I will take back piece by piece.
