He brought a woman who looked exactly like me, claiming she was the original lover, and that I was just an inferior copy. Chapter 1 of "The AI Substitute"

My name is Nia. This is my tenth year standing by Bobby Truman's side as an android. At seven o'clock in the morning, the biological clock awakens me on schedule. Usually at this time, Bobby would walk into the kitchen with a smile, hug me from behind, and ask if there were any crab roe buns—his favorite—for breakfast. But today, there were none. I had just tied my apron when the command module on my wrist suddenly flashed red. "Command: Stand at the entrance for thirty minutes as punishment." It was Bobby's voice. I was stunned; this was the first time in ten years he had issued me a punishment command. I walked to the entrance and stood with my back perfectly straight. Thirty minutes later, Bobby finally emerged from the bedroom. He wore a dark gray suit and a impeccably tied tie but didn't look at me once. I followed him into the kitchen, preparing to activate the cooking program. But a line of red text flashed on the screen: "Program deleted." I turned to look at Bobby. He was leaning against the bar, sipping coffee, his fingers swiping rapidly across his phone screen. "Sir, the cooking program..." "No need to do it." He interrupted me, his voice cold and emotionless, "You won't be cooking at home anymore." That afternoon, he suddenly called out to me. "Nia, cry for me." I froze. My bionic eyeballs could simulate the physiological response of tears, but the "sadness" embedded in my emotional module was a fragment of human consciousness my father, Dr. Limbaugh, had intentionally preserved for me ten years ago. "Sir, my emotional module requires a trigger condition." Bobby put down the document in his hand, walked over to me, and pinched my chin with his fingertips, forcing me to look up. "Trigger condition?" He sneered coldly, "Since when does a robot need trigger conditions?" I said nothing, merely staring into the unfamiliar coldness in his eyes. In the evening, when he returned, a woman followed behind him. The woman had long hair draped over her shoulders, and when she smiled, a small tear mole appeared at the corner of her eye. The sensor inside me, designed to simulate a human heartbeat, suddenly began pounding violently. Because this woman's face is exactly the same as my synthetic body's. "Let me introduce you," Bobby said, wrapping his arm around the woman's waist in a gentleness I had never heard from him before. "This is Yara Drury. From now on, she will be the mistress of this household." Yara smiled at me, but her eyes bore unmistakable hostility. "So, you are Nia?" She reached out as if to touch my face. "You really do look like me, but you're nothing but a soulless substitute." I stepped back, evading her touch. Bobby's expression darkened. "Nia, watch your tone with Yara." I looked at Bobby, then glanced at Yara. Ten years passed like a bubble, suddenly cracking open at this very moment.

His Responsibility, His Secret

Before the pregnancy test's red line had even warmed up, I saw Heather Lawrence's chat window. Hank Chandler's messages pierced my eyes: "Abort it immediately. Don't let Viola Zimmerman know." My hands were trembling as I video-called Hank Chandler. He smiled like an idiot: "Viola, you're really pregnant? We'll come on vacation once I finish work!" I turned and went straight to the hospital, but overheard Heather Lawrence sobbing to the doctor: "Can this baby be saved?" I leaned in, and the moment she saw me, her face went pale. "Viola, I..." "Who is the baby's father?" I gripped the edge of my clothes tightly. She cried hard, "He's married. I can't say!"收起

Freshly Divorced, Already Spoiled

Lucy leaned in Jason's arms, shaking the phone—its screen showed my pregnancy test report. "Grace, what do you think Jason will feel when he finds out you're pregnant and hid your gastric cancer diagnosis?" I clenched the diagnosis tightly. "You took my phone on purpose?" Jason frowned and pushed me away. "Grace, Lucy's worried about you! Why didn't you say anything about the gastric cancer?" "Worried about me?" I laughed out loud. "She's afraid I'll hold onto my place, afraid this baby will shatter her hopes!" Lucy's eyes reddened as she clung to Jason. "I didn't... I just don't want Jason to be dragged down by you." "Dragged down?" I stared straight at Jason. "You accompanied her for pointless check-ups...

Lies in the Order

I blocked the stairwell entrance, slamming my phone down hard in front of Mike. "Rachel? What are you doing here?" He jerked his hand free of Sophia's in a panic, his voice trembling violently. "I shouldn't be the one asking that question?" I stabbed a finger at the intimate figures in the photo. "Thirty food deliveries—were they for your clients, or a treat for my best friend?" "She wasn't feeling well, I was just passing by..." Mike's gaze darted away, avoiding mine. "Just passing by?" Sophia wrenched herself out of his grasp all of a sudden, her voice sharp with accusation. "You were the one who came to me, saying you'd stopped loving Rachel a long time ago!" "Shut up!...

Reborn for Revenge: Targeting the Trashy Couple

I suddenly opened my eyes. The harsh sunlight stung my eye sockets so badly that it hurt. This was not the pale ceiling I had seen before my death; instead, it was the small yet cozy rental apartment I had lived in when I was twenty-three. I glanced at the date on my phone—it was exactly one year before I married Samuel, the man I once thought I would spend my entire life with! "Victoria, I just got out of the hospital, and my leg still hurts," Samuel's voice was as gentle as ever, yet it sent a cold shiver through my entire body. In my previous life, he had used this very same demeanor to swindle me out of...

After Found By My Family

That day, I was taking the subway during the morning rush when my phone suddenly buzzed, and an unknown number popped up. I picked up, and on the other end was a deep voice with a slight tremor: "Morgan, I'm your biological father, Howard Shawn." I almost laughed out loud, thinking it was some kind of scam. But to my surprise, the next day, a sharply dressed man and woman showed up downstairs at my office, holding a DNA report and a faded old photo. At that moment, I was completely stunned—this was way too crazy!收起
