The Clinic of Forgetting

That day, I came home early. My pajamas were on another woman, who was leaning against my husband's chest. "Mrs. Charlotte," she smiled, her voice sweet as poisoned honey, "Alexander said I look better in these pajamas." Alexander Salk silently held her shoulders. "We are getting a divorce." My voice was unexpectedly calm. The gentleness on his face instantly froze, replaced by a darkness I had never seen before. "Divorce?" He chuckled darkly, closing in on me step by step, his breath hot against my ear. The next moment, my mouth was covered, a sharp, acrid scent invading my nostrils. Before my vision blurred, I heard him whisper by my ear, like a lover's final murmur: "Sleep. When you wake, you will forget all the painful memories... and only remember how much you love me."收起

Chapter 1 of "The Clinic of Forgetting"

Often, in a fleeting, hazy moment, I find myself recalling the scene of my first meeting with Alexander Salk. It was an early summer afternoon, sunlight filtering through the sycamore leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground. I had just finished an interview, and as I stepped out of the Office Building, I accidentally collided with someone. The papers in my hands scattered across the ground, and I hurriedly bent down to retrieve them. "Be careful." A low, gentle voice sounded above me. I looked up and found myself caught in a pair of deep, captivating eyes. The man wore a sharply tailored white shirt, his sleeves rolled up to reveal smooth, well-defined forearms. He bent down gracefully to help me collect the scattered papers, his movements calm and assured. "Thank you." I accepted the documents he handed me, feeling a flush warm my cheeks. "It's okay." He smiled, the faint lines at the corners of his eyes softening his gaze. "Did you just finish your interview?" I nodded, gripping the documents in my hand tightly. "This company is good. You should make the most of the opportunity." After saying that, he turned and walked into the office building. It was only later that I discovered he was the CEO of the company, Alexander Salk. After that meeting, we crossed paths several more times. Sometimes in the company elevator, sometimes at the café downstairs. He was always kind, would take the initiative to greet me, and occasionally strike up a brief conversation. I admit, I found myself drawn to him. He was mature and steady, possessing a reassuring strength. On the day he confessed to me, I hardly hesitated before saying yes. Those around me envied me, saying I had married a good man. The wedding was grand, and Alexander Salk gave me a fairy-tale ceremony. In those early days of marriage, he was exceptionally kind to me. He remembered my preferences, picked me up when I worked late, and accompanied me to the park or movies on weekends. I believed this happiness would last forever. Until Blair Shane appeared. Blair Shane is Alexander Salk's secretary—young, beautiful, and exceptionally capable. At first, I didn't pay her much attention. After all, it's normal for a CEO like Alexander to have outstanding subordinates around him. But gradually, I began to sense that something was wrong. Alexander started working overtime more and more frequently. Sometimes, when he came home late at night, he would carry a scent of perfume that wasn't mine. His phone also became mysteriously close to him; he never let it out of his sight and would deliberately avoid me when answering calls. A woman's intuition told me that he was definitely hiding something from me.

The Needles in My Shoes

"Chip, tie my shoelaces tighter. If I win, I'll buy you ice cream!" I stood on tiptoe, nudging his arm. He crouched down, his fingers going a little stiff. I teased, "Nervous? It's not like you're the one running the 800 meters." He didn't look up, his voice low, "Don't let your guard down—Christina's in this too." Before the starting gun, Christina Sterling came over, her sweet smile hiding a sharp edge: "Melanie, don't go easy on me later!" I was about to snap back when Chip Johnson suddenly grabbed me: "Melanie, maybe you shouldn't run? I'm afraid you'll get hurt." "What nonsense are you talking about!" I shrugged him off. "I've trained for a whole year just for today!"...

The Diary's Truth

That wedding six years ago was supposed to be the happiest day of my life. "Farina Franco, you truly disgust me." Gene Donovan threw the photo in my face, his eyes sharp like a poisoned blade. The photo showed me naked, tangled with a stranger—fake, all of it fake. "Listen to me, let me explain—" "Explain?" He sneered, "My sister's diary is right here! Your father raped her and drove her to suicide! There's not a single decent person in your family!" He forcibly dragged me away and shoved me into the car. "Where are you taking me?" "The psychiatric hospital. You're insane and need treatment." His voice was cold and emotionless: "This is the punishment you deserve."收起

Revenge Wedding

Dressed in a red wedding dress, I faced a nightmarish ceremony. In the living room, the rage born of betrayal by my own family hung thick like the stench of gasoline; my parents, younger brother, foster sister, and fiance were all bound to the sofa. Reborn as My Ex's Sister

My ex-husband killed me with his own hands. When I opened my eyes again, I was reborn into his family as his unborn sister. Listening to his hypocritical care for my new "Mom," he even tried to harm me a second time. Farewell to Love and Hatred

"Charles! My mom is dying! She's calling your name!" I clutched his wedding announcement with Rebecca and banged on the iron gate until it rattled. The carved door swung open. He had his arm around Rebecca, his voice cold as ice. "Mia Lynn, we're already divorced. Her business is none of my concern." My nails dug into the railings. "Can't you just go to the hospital to see her one last time?" Rebecca feigned a placating tone. "Charles just got married. Ms. Lynn, please don't make a scene." "Make a scene?" I laughed until tears streamed down my face. "I gave my heart and soul to this family, and you turned around and married your student?" Charles waved for the...

Three Centuries of Captive Love

Dragonfire scorched the Jade Pendant. I stared at Zoe standing behind Timothy, and his voice was cold as ice: "Sandra, Zoe has been suffering from insomnia. Go to the outside of her palace and sing a requiem until she falls sound asleep." "My song is only for the one I love." I clenched the dagger hidden in my sleeve tightly. "You have no choice." He flung a handful of dragonfire at me. "Don't try any tricks." Three days later, he came again: "Zoe wants a phoenix-feather dress. Pluck the feathers from your back — the more, the better." "Plucking my feathers is like cutting out my heart. How can you not feel an ounce of guilt?" I turned my back...

The Bride of the Cursed Heir

"You think marrying me means you can replace her?" Jeff Harrison's fingers nearly crushed my chin, his gaze sharp and cold as ice. "Remember, you are only her substitute." He released his grip as if discarding trash. "Don't delude yourself into expecting anything." At three in the morning, the servant dragged me from bed. "Mr. Harrison wants you to go to his study and pour him a drink." Cold liquid splattered over me along with shards of broken glass. "Useless," he sneered coldly. "You don't even know how to pour a drink. Bella Tillman would never disappoint me like this." I crouched down; my fingertips were cut by the glass, blood beads seeping out.收起
